Gates Mills Police Blotter: Storage Locker Theft, Welfare Check and Loose Dog Draw Officers

Gates Mills officers handled a varied slate of calls last week, ranging from a resident reporting a burglary at an out of state storage facility to a citation for a dog at large.

Storage Locker Break In Reported From Las Vegas

On July 6, a woman came into the station to ask how to report a break in at her Cube storage locker in Las Vegas. She was advised to contact police in Henderson, Nevada, where the facility is located, since that department has jurisdiction over the report. It is unknown what, if anything, was taken from the unit.

Welfare Check Leads To Precautionary Hospital Trip

On July 7, officers responded to a welfare check at a Battles Road residence after a family member requested one. Contact was made with the resident, who was voluntarily transported to Hillcrest Hospital by EMS as a precaution for an illness.

Motorist Flags Apparent Argument On Chagrin River Road

On July 8, a passing motorist reported seeing a woman exit a vehicle in the 600 block of Chagrin River Road following an apparent argument with the male driver. Officers searched the surrounding area but did not locate the vehicle. It is possible the woman re-entered the car before officers arrived.

Senior Citizen Assisted After Fall On Riverview

On July 9, officers were dispatched to a Riverview residence to help a senior citizen who had fallen. She was not injured and was assisted as needed.

Facebook Messages Prompt Harassment Complaint

On July 10, a Som Center man filed a harassment report after an old friend sent him unwanted Facebook messages. Officers contacted the friend and advised the person to cease all contact.

Repeat Warnings Lead To Dog At Large Citation

On July 11, a Som Center resident was cited for dog at large after allowing his dog to roam onto a neighboring property. The citation followed previous warnings to the resident about the same issue.
