Gates Mills Police Respond to Accidental 911 Calls, Traffic Stop

Gates Mills police responded to a mix of calls this week, including two accidental 911 dials, a report of a suspicious pedestrian and a traffic stop that ended in a citation.

This Week’s Calls

On July 12, a 911 call came from a Chartley Road residence. Officers confirmed the call was accidental and caused by a grandson.

The following day, officers responded to Gates Road after a resident reported an unfamiliar woman walking through the neighborhood who appeared to need assistance. They located her near the Gates Mills Place entrance and learned she was an employee taking a walk on her lunch break. She was checked and found to be fine.

A resident in the Brigham area reported on July 14 that a passing driver had thrown a beer can onto the property. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

On July 15, a second accidental 911 call was received, this time from a Norvale Circle residence. Officers determined the call had been triggered accidentally by landscapers working on the property.

A father requested a wellness check on July 16 for his ex-wife and their teenage son after learning the two had a verbal argument. Officers responded to a Brigham residence and found the situation was fine.

The week concluded with a traffic stop on July 18, when a 61 year old Cleveland man was pulled over for speeding on Mayfield Road. He was also found to be driving under a license suspension and was cited for both violations.
