Lake Erie Crushers Pitcher Andres Parra Earns Frontier League Weekly Honor

A Young Arm Makes History

Avon’s Lake Erie Crushers have something to celebrate. The Frontier League named left-handed pitcher Andres Parra its Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 25, recognizing a dominant stretch that turned heads across the league.

Parra delivered two strong outings in five days, posting a combined line of 11 innings pitched, eight hits allowed, one unearned run, five walks, and nine strikeouts. He did not allow an earned run during the entire stretch.

Two Starts, One Statement

The week opened May 27 at ForeFront Field against the Florence Y’alls. Parra went 6 1/3 innings, surrendering just one unearned run on three hits with four strikeouts. That performance helped the Crushers secure a tight 2-1 victory.

Three days later, on short rest, Parra took the ball again against divisional rival Washington Wild Things. He delivered 4 2/3 scoreless innings against one of the tougher lineups in the league. The highlight came in the second inning when Washington loaded the bases with nobody out. Parra responded by striking out back-to-back batters and getting a flyout to strand all three runners.

Making Crushers History

Parra is just 21 years old. On May 8, he became the youngest Opening Day starting pitcher in Lake Erie Crushers history when he took the mound at ForeFront Field.

On the season, he carries a 2-1 record across five starts with a 3.33 ERA. This is the first time a Crushers pitcher has received the Frontier League’s weekly honor since Leonardo Rodriguez earned it in 2025.
