Ravenna Police Report: OVI Arrests, Juvenile Incidents, and Domestic Violence

Ravenna officers handled high-BAC drunk driving arrests, school disturbances, and violent domestic disputes during a busy late-April stretch.

The Ravenna Police Department managed a wide range of criminal activity between April 15 and April 28, 2026, including several high-BAC impaired driving arrests, felony warrant services, juvenile misconduct at local schools, and multiple domestic violence calls.

Impaired Driving and OVI Arrests

Officers made multiple OVI arrests during this period, several involving extreme impairment or crashes. On April 21, officers responded to a two-vehicle crash near Chestnut Street and West Main Street where a driver admitted to consuming vodka before striking a parked vehicle; the suspect provided a breath sample of .303 — nearly four times the legal limit — before a second test was incomplete. Another significant OVI arrest occurred on April 26 on Lafayette Avenue, where an intoxicated driver was taken into custody.

Juvenile Misconduct and School Disturbances

Ravenna officers were repeatedly called to local schools to manage disruptions. At Ravenna High School on April 24, a female juvenile was charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly initiating a physical fight in the hallway that required intervention from multiple teachers.

At Brown Middle School, several incidents were reported in the same period:

• On April 20, a male student was charged with disorderly conduct after striking another student.
• On April 21, a student was charged for verbally abusing staff and making obscene gestures while skipping a lunch detention.
• On April 24, an unruly child charge was filed against a student who used profanity toward staff and exited the building without authorization.

Separately, three juveniles were identified in connection with damage and a small fire at the Children's Park bathroom on April 19.

Domestic Violence and Assault Interventions

The department intervened in several violent domestic disputes. On April 26, officers arrested a male suspect on Beech Street after he allegedly pushed a victim into an air conditioning unit and struck her multiple times while children were present. That same day, a female suspect on Washington Avenue was arrested for domestic violence and aggravated menacing after allegedly throwing a phone at a victim's face, punching him, and brandishing a kitchen knife.

Theft, Trespassing, and Warrant Services

Officers also handled property crimes and outstanding warrants. A male suspect was arrested on April 22 for burglary after allegedly entering a residence on East Cedar Street through an unlocked door while the occupants were inside. Multiple suspects were taken into custody on felony warrants from outside agencies, including the Portage County Sheriff's Office and Columbiana County. One suspect was charged with criminal trespass after returning to a Circle K location after being warned to stay away.
